 At this time , we are going to focus on Scriptures that have the number eight in them. This is one method that you can use to help you remember certain verses or topics that are related. As of this writing , it is the month of August , which is the eighth month of the year. With the various items that will be brought up , this post can be enjoyed any time of the year , so enjoy !  😊

 Mankind has decided , in different cultures , to assign natural elements to represent certain things , however we must keep a few things in mind . The God of Genesis - the God of the Bible - created all of the seen and unseen things , and of all that He has created , we are to never look at any created thing as something to worship , pray to , or hold any suspicions about.And we are not to look to any created thing to be any so-called guide. To those who belong to God , the only guide we are to put our trust in is God , our Counselor - period.

Unfortunately , people have a tendency to want to believe in the potential for good outcomes as they develop their connections to the natural part of creation . Some even hold to the belief that certain numbers can bring about good luck , or even bad luck , depending on such things as a calendar date or the outcome of certain events .  

God never intended for people to have their lives guided by nature or by any number system . However , God did fully intend for humanity to know Him thoroughly , in the fullness of truth , through His Spirit and His Written Word. This is possible for you , so let's explore leaving the worthless behind , and pursue the God who knows and loves you !

PSALM 62

5  " For God alone my soul waits in silence and quietly submits to Him,

For my hope is from Him.

6  He only is my rock and my salvation;

My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged.

7  On God my salvation and my glory rest;

He is my rock of [unyielding] strength, my refuge is in God.

8  Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people;

Pour out your heart before Him.

God is a refuge for us. Selah."

 11  " God has spoken once,

Twice I have heard this:

That power belongs to God.

12  Also to You, O Lord, belong lovingkindness and compassion,

For You compensate every man according to [the value of] his work."

I would like to draw your attention to the last verse :

12 " . . .  For You compensate every man according to [the value of] his work."

When every person is brought before the Lord , He will be examining each life to see if that person valued Him as their God , Savior , Guide , Counselor , Provider , Helper etc , or if that person chose the worthless and the non-eternal , and maybe even the wicked , to see them through this lifetime.

The Book of Revelation has a very blunt section in it where the sins of mankind

have become so dark and unrelenting that judgment will befall those who chose to

live contrary to God . Here's the verse :

REVELATION 9

20 " The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent even then of the works of their hands, so as to cease worshiping and paying homage to the demons and the idols of gold and of silver and of bronze and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;  

21and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries (drugs, intoxications) nor of their [sexual] immorality nor of their thefts."

ROMANS  8

The ENTIRE eighth chapter of Romans is a great place to start reading , then you can get the truth into your heart and see if you need to make Jesus your Savior ; or if He is your Savior , are you living a life that is demonstrating the daily abiding in the Spirit of Christ and bearing the fruits thereof ?

ROMANS 8

 9 " However, you are not [living] in the flesh [controlled by the sinful nature] but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God lives in you [directing and guiding you]. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him [and is not a child of God].  

10 If Christ lives in you, though your [natural] body is dead because of sin, your spirit is alive because of righteousness [which He provides].  

11 And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you."

Psalm 5 ~ June 5 : Israel

 God bless you , readers , as you enjoy Psalm 5 from the Bible ; and some of Israel's history.

June 5th is the anniversary date of the famous Six Day War , where Israel gained territories for the sake of unification , religious freedom and security from those who surrounded her , especially with animosity.  From  June 5 - 10 , 1967 , Israel obtained the entire city of Jerusalem - which included the famous Western Wall ; the Gaza strip , the Sinai Peninsula , the so-called  "west bank" , and the Golan Heights.

Some of the above mentioned places remain within Israel's  jurisdiction , while some areas have been given over to others to control - with restrictions. The so-called "west bank" is a term the world has used to defy Israel's God given boundaries that He set for them , as mentioned in the Old Testament. The world wants all to remember that the eastern portion of Israel's God given land was actually the western portion of Jordan prior to the Six Day War. It is best for all to remember that God created the nation of Israel , and her boundaries - and that includes her one and only capital , Jerusalem.

By God's grace , what is critically within Israel's complete control is Jerusalem , the Western Wall and the Golan Heights.

Since Jerusalem and the Western Wall have become a part of the state of Israel , her people have enjoyed praying and worshiping freely , where they belong. The nation of Israel  faces annual risks from acts of violence and from those who want to remove her status as a Jewish state , but God has kept her so far. It is imperative that Christians and Jews keep their hearts , actions and prayers for Israel and the Jewish people.

The Number 13 Series : November 13

     To many , the number thirteen ( 13 )  has plenty of negative 

connotations , but here , on BIBLE PAGES , we're going to enjoy 

the number thirteen from a better perspective.   👍

    From HISTORY , November 13 certainly has a variety of good and

bad events , but two positive dates include : [ wiki sourced info ]

1956 - SCOTUS declared Alabama's bus segregation to be illegal.

 Racial hatred has no place in a clean heart.

If you are dealing with racial hatred , then please ask God for

forgiveness , and for Him to fill your heart with His love and grace.

He will forgive you and move many mountains for you , and for 

others , too.  God bless you as you pursue a pure heart !

1982 - The Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated.

To our military personnel and families , our nation owes them 

a debt and full respect , irregardless of one's opinions of  their 

assignments at that time . Our nation tried to save South Vietnam 

from the very anti-freedom ways of Communism ; and even though 

South Vietnam fell to Communist North Vietnam anyway  -  

for numerous reasons - our major objective was noble . 

Those who lost their lives due to that war , they should not be

forgotten , be they civilian or military. And neither should we 

forget the mistakes made during that era that allowed the fall

to happen. Communism is always worthy of our best fight against it !

Switching over to another topic , each month - and sometimes 

on specific days - there are food themes that have been established .

For the second week of November ( November 13 , 2020 ),

SPLIT PEA SOUP is the theme.  God blessed us with the

very healthful vegetable called the Pea , so if you can find a

way to enjoy peas in your diet , it will be an investment in your health !

 For those who are in the midst of stresses , hazards or dangers - or you are

things for those who love and trust Him.   Seek His face with a heart of loving

faith , obedience and trust , then He can help you.   Pray through out your day
