Let's explore the topic of Autumn.

Autumn is a very unique season with its beautiful colorfulness and its pleasing aromas , as well as being a season of rains and harvests. Autumn is also a time for the seasonal changes of the fashion industry and for educational pursuits , amongst other things. In the Fall , some of God's creatures begin to prepare for the upcoming winter by either migrating ; or by doing extra labor to produce food stockpiles or to gain weight for their winter's hibernation. This season can also bring people outdoors more often as they enjoy the cooling down from the summer's heat. Which ever season you enjoy the most , or like the least , be sure and take advantage of finding several things that you like that are specific to each season . This will help you to welcome each day and season more readily. If you've struggled with enjoying a particular season , for whatever reason , then please ask God for His grace to help you to enjoy that specific season with you . He will respond to your faith with His loving care.

With the Fall harvests coming in , some farmers install scarecrows in their fields to ward
off any unwanted creatures who would invade them. Although the effectiveness of scarecrows can be debated , the topic did find its way into the Bible . In Jeremiah 10 : 5 , the uselessness of idols was compared to a scarecrow.

“They are like scarecrows in a cucumber field ; They cannot speak ; They have to be carried , Because they cannot walk ! Do not be afraid of them, For they can do no harm or evil , Nor can they do any good.”

{ Please note that there is quite a division between translations on whether the term cucumber , melon or palm tree should be used for the above verse }. 

 Although many people do not have a field to harvest , most people enjoy the crops that come from these fields - as God had designed for us to do - , but some have found a way to bring the feel of a harvest field to their place through adorable scarecrow dolls , such as this one pictured below from pixabay user " ErikaWittlieb " . 

                            The apple , pumpkins and other produce are part of the Fall harvest.

Israel  and the Jewish people are precious in God's sight , and so is Jerusalem.  

Jerusalem is the only capital that Israel has ever had over her long and recorded history.  In acknowledgement of the importance of Jerusalem to the Jewish people , to God and to the existence of the Jewish State of Israel , the governing body of Israel , called the Knesset , named Jerusalem as their capital on December 13 , 1949.

For those who are unaware of just how important the Jewish people ,

Jerusalem and the nation of Israel are to God , and to the whole Earth -

I implore you to study the Bible from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation.

Upon reading and studying the Bible , you will discover that

Israel's  Jerusalem was , is and will always be , an integral

part of the fulfilling of God's plans in the Earth .

Jerusalem means the City of Peace.

When God comes to reign on the Earth , forever , it will be 

done from His Eternal City that He built , and that city is called the New Jerusalem.

He has made it for His glory and for those who love Him , eternally.

His peace will reign for all time from that place , and to that we all need to proclaim ,

" Amen ! ".

God's majestic Elephants ! 

Even though they are listed as an endangered species ,

they will always represent courage , endurance and strength.

Just as elephants are not indestructible , neither are human beings.

This world brings a great many challenges to the living , whether they are

human or one of God's other creations. And along with those worldly challenges 

can come some very overwhelming odds that can defeat even the best of us .

 

Telling someone , in their most difficult hour , to be strong and of good courage

can sometimes be met with a measure of resentment , or a feeling of being

completely inadequate to meet the level of those well intended words. 

The one thing that you need to keep in your heart is that no sorrow or frustration

can take you out of God's reach.  Ask for His grace , and He will meet you whenever

and wherever you need Him to , so that He can enable you to be so much more than 

you can handle.

                                 Defining Thanksgiving

     The topic of thanksgiving can be mainly divided into two main categories.

One category is more defined by being appreciative of things going in a

desired direction. The other category does include the aspect of appreciation  ,

but it also includes the belief that there is someone to whom is owed a heart

of  thanks.  As one explores the pages of the Bible , and encounters the

modern testimonies of countless multitudes  ,  you will find a pattern of those

He blesses , how He blesses them , and why.  God has shown that 

He delights in those who choose to honor Him with trust , thanksgiving and 

respect .    

    One individual who went from having everything , to nothing , and then having

everything again is JOSEPH .  Please read this extraordinary account of his trials 

and triumphs , from being rejected and destitute , to being able to bless the nations  , 

as it is written in the pages of Genesis .

    At this time , it is November 2020 , and the world has been dealt a strong

blow by the pandemic called Covid-19.  This virus has robbed the lives , livelihoods 

and lifestyles of many across the globe , but for all of the tragedies that are being

faced , let us remember that God cares about the suffering of humanity and His

ears are open to respectful prayers .  God is well able to heal bodies and minds , broken

hearts and suffering economies , so let's give Him thanks for every good thing

and lean on Him for our many needs.

May God bless this world , which is suffering under many types of hardships , 

                with His grace , salvation and healing - everyday. Amen !

        At this time , our frontliners { all first responders , the medical community 

and other helpers } have suffered the brunt of the hardships that this pandemic has

brought upon the world. We owe them our deep gratitude , and we most assuredly owe 

God thanks for the help that they provide , but we can take our thanks a few steps 

further.

       First , please pray for the frontliners to have all of the grace and salvation that 

they need for their own well being , their jobs and their families. 

      Second , hospitals are pleading with people to wear their masks , and to avoid social

gatherings , in order to save lives and to prevent the medical community from being

dangerously overwhelmed.

     Third , please pray for God to call people into the various  frontliner career fields !

Sadly , too many have lost their lives while serving others . It is so imperative that every 

region have a minimum number of professionals available to adequately service their areas ;

and since He knows those who would be an asset to certain professions and communities ,

let's pray accordingly .

     Fourth , please take care of your health ! The fewer health problems you have , the

easier it is to recover from any affliction. In closing , please :

                          Be well . Be prayerful . And be thankful .  :)

The Number 13 Series : November 13

     To many , the number thirteen ( 13 )  has plenty of negative 

connotations , but here , on BIBLE PAGES , we're going to enjoy 

the number thirteen from a better perspective.   👍

    From HISTORY , November 13 certainly has a variety of good and

bad events , but two positive dates include : [ wiki sourced info ]

1956 - SCOTUS declared Alabama's bus segregation to be illegal.

 Racial hatred has no place in a clean heart.

If you are dealing with racial hatred , then please ask God for

forgiveness , and for Him to fill your heart with His love and grace.

He will forgive you and move many mountains for you , and for 

others , too.  God bless you as you pursue a pure heart !

1982 - The Vietnam Veterans Memorial was dedicated.

To our military personnel and families , our nation owes them 

a debt and full respect , irregardless of one's opinions of  their 

assignments at that time . Our nation tried to save South Vietnam 

from the very anti-freedom ways of Communism ; and even though 

South Vietnam fell to Communist North Vietnam anyway  -  

for numerous reasons - our major objective was noble . 

Those who lost their lives due to that war , they should not be

forgotten , be they civilian or military. And neither should we 

forget the mistakes made during that era that allowed the fall

to happen. Communism is always worthy of our best fight against it !

Switching over to another topic , each month - and sometimes 

on specific days - there are food themes that have been established .

For the second week of November ( November 13 , 2020 ),

SPLIT PEA SOUP is the theme.  God blessed us with the

very healthful vegetable called the Pea , so if you can find a

way to enjoy peas in your diet , it will be an investment in your health !
